Pot of Gold Slots

Any pot of gold should contain just that - some gold. The rumor goes that a rainbow has this very pot at the end of it, yet no one has ever managed to find one. Every time you try and move closer to the end of a rainbow, it moves. No wonder the pot of gold is fabled to be there and not proven!

When we spotted the Pot of Gold slot game, we had some ideas of what we might find there. However, we can reveal more here for you if you're curious to play the game.

Which developer created the Pot of Gold slot game?

You might guess this simply from how the slot looks when you load it. It has the same look and feel as many others from the same developer, which in this case is Arrows Edge.

You can play a demo before the real thing

We tend to suggest you do this whenever you get the chance, as it gives you greater insight and info into the game and how it all works.

Which theme is in use here?

You lose points from us if you didn't work out that we have a lucky Irish theme going on in this slot. Pots of gold and rainbows tend to point to that theme, as they do here as well.

Design elements are predictable yet appealing

And that can be a tough balance to strike. When you hear about this theme, you have some expectations of what might appear on the reels and around them too. We get some nice scenery here, along with a leprechaun to guide us and some four-leafed clovers we hope bring us the good fortune they are supposed to!

Getting started: How to play Pot of Gold

We get five reels here, but instead of three icons per reel there are four. The game screen displays a Cash Grab progressive jackpot. This prize tends to be won whenever it gets to between $2,000 and $5,000.

The usual wild and scatter are in action here too. The wild is the clover, appearing over the middle three reels of the game. It won't replace the scattered pot of gold or the gold coin (more about that shortly), but everything else is fine.

Does the game use paylines or way wins?

They use the latter here, amounting to 1,024 ways for the 5 x 4 arrangement of symbols.

Place those bets…

You must wager 50 credits on every spin, but you can choose how much each credit is valued at. The smallest option is a cent, meaning the minimum bet is 50 cents. With other coins in action as well, it's possible to wager up to $300 per spin.

Paytable details for Pot of Gold

As with all Arrows Edge slots, the paytable tells us plenty about the game. Look for the question mark to load it - this doesn't take long. The question mark is at the bottom of your screen.

Bonuses in Pot of Gold

There is one but you need to go through to the free spins first to stand a chance of unlocking it. The bonus is some Golden Spins, and we'll tell you more about those in the next portion of our review.

The free spins come first

Yes, you can get five, 10, or 15 spins - randomly awarded by the game - for finding three pots of gold anywhere in the same spin. You can net more in the same manner too.

Once there, all the regular symbols can appear on the reels. They are joined by those gold coins too though - these do not appear in the base game. The target is to find six gold coin on the same spin. If you manage to do this, those coins turn sticky and stay in their respective positions. Everything else vanishes and the reels spin through three Golden Spins. During these spins, only coins and blank spaces appear on the reels.

Each coin bears a value. If you don't find any more coins, you get the total prizes shown on the coins at the end of the Golden Spins. However, whenever at least one more coin is found, that remains in position as well and you return to having three spins left in this bonus feature.

When you run out of Golden Spins, you win the sum of all the coins shown. If you got all positions filled by coins, you can look forward to winning something bigger.

Our rating: Is Pot of Gold a promising game?

It's promising for sure, with those Golden Spins the aim. We liked the free spins too though, and the game is bouncy enough to earn a score of 8/10.

Watch for a jackpot winner

Since the progressive drops at lower levels, it may well drop more often than a bigger jackpot. So, watch out for further details of future winners when they occur.
