Digibyte was introduced in 2014, and has grown to become the longest blockchain around today. As with many other virtual currencies, Digibyte was built on the original software that launched Bitcoin. However, it too has taken advantage of the open source code to create new improvements to its own currency.
A key feature with Digibyte is the enhanced security it offers. This no doubt contributes to its position as one of the strongest and better-known cryptocurrencies around today. With around 8 billion coins in circulation at present, the maximum of 21 billion coins means we are a long way from achieving this level.
