BetMGM Offers Fans a Chance to Experience the World Cup From New York
BetMGM teamed with Marriott Bonvoy on a limited-time sweepstakes that gives eligible players a shot at VIP access to the Sports Illustrated “Beyond the Pitch” party series, with the finale in New York City on July 18. The promotion runs through June 21, 2026, and is aimed at sportsbook users who want a memorable World Cup experience without leaving the United States.
How to enter and who’s eligible
To participate, link your BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts and place a minimum $10 wager on the BetMGM Sportsbook app or website. Entries must be submitted after accounts are linked. Players can earn up to 25 entries per entry period, and winners are selected weekly throughout the promotion. The sweepstakes is open to eligible BetMGM users who meet the platform’s account and location requirements — see full sweepstakes rules and terms and conditions on the BetMGM Sportsbook app or website. Claim by June 21, 2026.
What winners will get
Big prizes and guaranteed perks for entrants who log at least one qualifying entry:
- Ten grand prize winners, each plus a guest, receive VIP event access, round-trip travel to New York City or travel funds, a three-night stay at Moxy Lower East Side, and dinner at L’Artusi Supper Club.
- Thirty additional participants receive a $100 bonus bet.
- All entrants with at least one entry receive 2,500 Marriott Bonvoy points.
Bonus bets and loyalty points are subject to standard BetMGM terms and wagering rules. Winners are responsible for meeting any eligibility and travel requirements tied to the prizes.
Why this matters for the market — and for BetMGM
Deutsche Bank projects about $3.3 billion in World Cup betting handle in the United States, in a range from $2.5 billion to $4.1 billion. Industry leaders FanDuel and DraftKings are forecast at roughly $1.3 billion and $1.1 billion respectively, with BetMGM’s handle projected near $250 million. The 2026 World Cup will feature 104 matches, played across North American time zones, and roughly 135 million United States adults now have legal online sports betting access compared with about 104 million in 2022.
This sweepstakes aligns with BetMGM’s push to be seen as an entertainment company with a sportsbook attached. Recent moves, like the Bragg Gaming slot content deal and a branded game called “The Lion’s Share” set to appear on CBS’s “The Price Is Right” debuting Sept. 22, point to a broader strategy of mixing hospitality and content-driven experiences with betting products.
