Burnley Fever Slots

Have you heard of Burnley? Depending on your knowledge of the UK and its football teams, your answer could be either yes or no. We do know Burnley gets some action in this new slot game called Burnley Fever, and we’ve been impressed with everything we have seen on its reels so far.

Even if you are not a football fan, we encourage you to hang fire and read our full review of this slot. We don’t think you will be disappointed if you do.

Slot game developer information

Real Time Gaming has had a busy year so far in 2019. This latest game is one of theirs too, so if you are keen to play a sporting-themed slot, this is a good one to try.

Demo play gives you access to check it out

This is good news because the demo features all the elements the main game has. If you want to find out everything there is to know about Burnley Fever before committing some of your gaming budget to it, this is the way to do it.

Does the theme touch on more than football?

No – the game is based on football, and more properly, the Burnley football team. Maybe you will notice some resemblance between some of the footballers cropping up on the reels?

Design elements to look out for

Football is played inside a football stadium, of course. RTG has done a grand job of showing us the stadium itself, complete with thousands of fans packing out the stands. You can’t spot any individuals, but the overall feel of a large football crowd is there.

They have also made sure every icon showing up on those reels is sharply drawn and appealing to look at. Expect lots of color here too.

Slot game type?

You will spot five reels in the center of the screen when the game is ready. Each of those reels has four symbols on it instead of three. To the right of the reels, you will see details of a minor and a major progressive jackpot. These are randomly unlocked following a paid spin if the right (unknown) combo lands on the reels.

It is not a shock to see a wild football involved in the game. The Burnley FC logo appears on this. It will only show up on the first and fifth reels, but it does appear stacked on those reels which is good. Only the mascot, acting as the scatter in the game, isn’t replaceable by this. If you get a prize with the help of a wild, it will be worth double the usual amount.

We should also reveal this game comes with two gameplay modes. These are known as Burnley and Lucky, and you can switch between the two by using the controls on the left of the first reel.

Lots of paylines to cover

While some slots have variable paylines, this one goes for fixed ones. There are 50 of them in all.

Betting considerations

The coin values go from a cent apiece up to $2.50, so you are likely to find something in there that allows you to place an affordable wager on each spin. Remember – the lines are fixed, so we get a 50-cent minimum in play here.

Paytable details

The paytable can be accessed from the bottom right of your screen. Those three lines looking innocent reveal links to several pages. Select the info one to go into the paytable. There are several pages to go through there, so use the right-hand arrow to go through and read them all.

Bonus round free kicks

Most football-themed slots include a penalty kick feature. This one does not disappoint either. We must reveal this game has some free spins to win, since the bonus is accessible from those spins rather than from the base game. Watch out for a bonus football to show up on every reel of the game. This will trigger the penalty kick bonus.

The idea is to take as many successful penalty kicks as you can. Each successful kick will see your winning multiplier increase. The starting multiplier for one goal is 3x, but you can increase this to hit 100x.

There is a golden ball included in this feature too. This can bring chances for further free kicks and potentially a 3x multiplier for your existing prize amount.

How would you like to play your free spins if you manage to win them?

You will notice the game has two words to the left of the reels – BURNLEY and LUCKY. These are the two game modes we mentioned earlier. The one you select will determine how your spins play out if you get to the free ones.

In BURNLEY mode, three, four, or five of the scattered mascots will unlock up to 100 games to play at no charge. Anything won in prizes in this feature receives a 3x boost.

In LUCKY mode, eight free spins are up for grabs. You do not need to trigger these, as they occur randomly after any spin. You don’t get a multiplier on anything won during these spins though.

Do we know what the game RTP is?

No – Burnley Fever does not include the RTP inside the paytable, which is the usual place to include it. We will let you know if we discover the return-to-player percentage in action here.

Do we give this slot a good rating?

We do, even though we are not football fans. We can’t rate it any less than 9 out of 10, given the two modes of play and the many other features included here.

Who will scoop those jackpots?

With two progressive jackpots on offer, it is hard to see why you wouldn’t want to try this game. If the game features appeal, it is nice to know you also have a random shot at one of those jackpots during play.

Using the practice play mode?

If you are, remember the game will play out in the normal manner. You won’t scoop any real prizes, but you can use demo credits to find your way around. It is the ideal way to get started.

Burnley FC fans might switch to play for real

Any fans of good slot games might make the switch too. You’ll need to be a member of the casino offering the game, but several of them do since it is a good RTG title. Just remember you should always have your budget agreed and in place before you begin.

Mobile play options

Android, Windows, iOS… all these devices and platforms and more will access the new game from RTG. Give it a shot when you are out and about and want something good to keep you occupied.
